You’d think that a year and a half is plenty of time to plan a wedding! But these days, it’s not much time at all. It’s unbelievable how quickly vendors and locations get booked. I am so thankful that Carter and I had a year and a half to plan our wedding, because it was the perfect amount of time to get everything accomplished and to host a magnificent event!
Carter and I knew that photography was a top priority for us. After the dress has been worn and preserved, the flowers have wilted, and the cake has been eaten, all that remain are your poignant memories and (hopefully!) some beautiful photos.
So, we went about the difficult task of finding a photographer to capture our day. We met with several photographers, and when we met “the one,” we knew right away. Heather Fowler was an immediate fit. I could go on and on about Heather, but instead, I’ll post the testimonial that I wrote about her. But first, here is a teaser photo to show you one example of Heather’s amazing work. This photo was taken during our first dance. By the way, 99% of the engagement and wedding photos on this site are a la Heather or her awesome assistant, Misty!
And here is the testimonial I wrote for Heather:
Choosing a photographer was one of the most important priorities when my husband and I planned our wedding. After doing a lot of research — reading testimonials, viewing photographers’ web sites, reading up on photographers in magazines such as The Knot — we then met with several of the photographers who we felt were the best of the best. When we met with Heather, we were blown away.
Heather was different from all the other photographers we met in important ways. First of all, she was very friendly and plain fun to be around — we promise you, that is not easy to find in a photographer! Second, she is one of the most honest and informative people we have ever met! She explained EVERYTHING to us — her style of photography, her packages and pricing, the types and styles of albums we could get. When we left, we said, “Wow, we know absolutely everything we need to know.” We literally could not think of a single question. That was NOT the case with the other photographers we met. Third, she provides you with everything you could want at an awesome price — her services and advice, her amazing photos, proofs (we love that she provides actual 4 x 6 photos if you want them, not just a book of teeny tiny images), a web site, a photo album — we feel like we got so, so much for our money. Fourth, Heather really gets to know you. Heather became like a best friend to us — she really cared about getting to know us as a couple, and it shows in the photos. She captured every precious emotion, every important moment, every priceless look. The bride (and her father) still cries every time she looks at the photos. Heather really stands out in every way — she is a precious gem in the world of photography, and we are just so thankful that we found her.
Heather is a phenomenal photographer. She captures all the best moments, all the deepest emotions, and she does it with an artistic eye and incomparable attention to detail. Several of our guests said, with these exact words: “Heather’s photos are the BEST wedding photos I have ever seen.” Guests even went out of their way to email us and our parents to compliment the photos. They also said, “How did they get all the great pictures? We didn’t even notice they were there!” We couldn’t agree more — Heather and her assistant were not intrusive at all, yet they still captured EVERYTHING.
Beyond being a phenomenal photographer, Heather is a phenomenal person. She is honest, intelligent, and helpful. She helped us every step of the way during the wedding planning process, even with issues not related to photography! She knew exactly what we wanted and took the time to make sure she understood all the tiny details of our day and our visions.
Hiring Heather is one of the best decisions we have ever made. Because of her, we have the most gorgeous wedding photos we could have ever imagined and a person we are proud to call our friend.
Thank you Heather from the bottom of our hearts. Anybody who has the opportunity to work with you is in for the experience of a lifetime.
With unending gratitude,
Tamara and Carter
