Carter and I planned an engagement shoot with Heather Fowler, and what another great decision! We decided to meet Heather in Ocean City, New Jersey on August 3, 2007 to take photos on the beach and boardwalk. Carter and I have made so many wonderful memories in Ocean City, so we thought it was a perfect place to ham it up for the camera. Then, DVideography President Dave Williams asked if we wanted a videographer to come along for the shoot. “I could make a really cool video save-the-date for you,” he said. I grinned from ear-to-ear as I imagined our wedding guests receiving video announcements . . . how unique and modern!
On a hot and sunny summer day, these two enthusiastic newlyweds-to-be met Heather and Dave in Ocean City to be the stars of our very own photo and video shoot. We had an absolute blast playing the roles of celebrities as we were followed around by Heather and Dave. Onlookers wondered who we were as the cameras documented our ocean-frolicking, seagull-feeding, Mack-&-Manco-pizza-eating fun!
We used some of our favorite photographs to create postcard-style save-the-dates at shesaidyesannouncements.com. Talk about awesome service! I was able to talk to customer service agents live as they revised our save-the-dates multiple times until it was exactly the way we wanted them. They even used a photo of my bridesmaid dresses to extract the exact color of the dress and use it in the announcement. A perfect color match! You can bet I wrote a testimonial for their web site!
Here’s a screen shot of my testimonial:

And now for the icing on the wedding cake . . . here is the totally original, totally hip, totally MTV-style video save-the-date that our guests received via email:
