Roses, roses everywhere made for a gorgeous setting and left an awesome impression on our guests. Like I mentioned in my previous post, Carter and I had a few “themes” running throughout the day to tie everything together and help create lasting memories for our family and friends.
I think one of the most unique, most unforgettable, and most profound parts of our day was our same day edit, created by DVideography. Carter and I have a long story and a rich history, especially for being a pretty young couple. We wanted to celebrate our deep friendship to the max. It’s not everyday that you meet married couples who knew each other while they were still in braces . . . which I think makes us pretty cool!
So, Dave Williams, President of DVideography, interviewed Carter and me about our relationship. He interviewed us at separate times, so we had no idea what the other said until the day of our wedding! He also incorporated old photographs, video footage taken during our beach engagement photo/video session, letters we had written to each other (some from when we were teenagers), romantic “love story” footage that he took of us, and perhaps most impressive, footage from earlier in the day! At the reception, guests’ mouths dropped open as they watched video clips from the ceremony that they had witnessed only a few hours before! All the editing was expertly done by Jordan Oplinger (the mastermind behind the day-of editing), Gary Hanna, and Pete Tyson of DVideography.
I had to try hard not to bawl during the showing of the same day edit. Carter and I didn’t see it until the day of the wedding, so it was extremely emotional. It was one of the most special and most treasured wedding gifts that we received. If you are looking for a way to make a BIG impression, a same day edit is the way to go. And by the way, Dave travels!
You can really personalize a same day edit. Because Carter and I have been best friends so long, and because our first dance song had such special meaning for us, we decided to end the video at a point that naturally led into our first dance to Chantal Kreviazuk’s “Feels Like Home.”
So, without further ado, here is the link to the same day edit that our guests enjoyed:

Your Same Day Edit is so beautiful and moving. It’s amazing to watch your story on the big screen! It must have made your day so special.
Thanks, Erin! It sure did. It was such an amazing wedding gift.
